The Challenge
Huboo’s success has led to rapid growth and an imperative to create more useable warehouse space across their fulfilment centres.
Having acquired a new 5000m2 warehouse in Avonmouth, Huboo needed to fit it out as quickly as possible to meet their operational deadlines.
NSI were engaged to design, procure and install a 1800m2 mezzanine floor onto which Huboo could expand their pick and pack micro-hubs.
The Approach
NSI Projects designed a bespoke mezzanine floor for the warehouse that would meet Huboo’s present and future operational requirements as well as comply with building control regulations.
The deadline for installation of the floor was exceptionally tight, requiring NSI to work with their European suppliers to procure a floor on short lead times and at the right price.
Installation of the floor was then safely completed on time and followed by the fitting of full fire protection, additional stairs, safety rails, pallet gates and a pallet lift.
The Outcome
The new mezzanine floor has added 35% more useable space to the warehouse that is now occupied by Huboo’s busy micro-hub managers.
NSI has followed up with designing and fitting out the office, toilet and canteen facilities that support the team in the warehouse and are fitting a PV solar system to the roof.
