Smoking Shelters Ensure Warm Reception at Pub Chain
The proposed ban on smoking in public places comes into force across England and Wales from summer 2007.
Some pub and leisure chains have already planned their response to this potential threat to custom and profits. Manchester-based JW Lees, which operates 160 pubs in Northern England, is leading the way by providing high quality QMP brand smoking shelters.
The smoking shelters, supplied and installed by NSI Projects, offer an economic solution that meets legislation, helps to maintain customer satisfaction and maximize profits. The shelters provide a functional yet attractive smoking area for customers outside the premises. The design allows the rapid dispersal of cigarette fumes from the base and roofline, while the substantial panels on up to four sides provide excellent protection from the elements.
“JW Lees have taken a very progressive approach to a situation that presents a major problem for breweries and licensed premises,” explains Simon King, managing director of NSI Projects. ”The QMP shelters offer a high quality yet economic solution to meet the needs of the vast majority of community pubs, thereby saving on expensive design and architectural fees.”
QMP provides both standard and custom-built smoking shelters that meet all current UK legislation. The shelters are already best sellers with businesses throughout the UK. The clear perspex sides offer good visibility with optional lighting. Wall-mounted or free-standing ashtrays can be specified to help to prevent litter build-up and sturdy perch seats are also available to add comfort. Paint finishes are powder coated as standard.
“NSI Projects were able to manage the entire project, from site survey, through schedule of works to installation, leaving the client to focus on their business. We chose QMP shelters because of the excellent quality, the flexibility of the design and the manufacturer’s pro-active approach to meeting our client’s requirements, said Simon King.
