Bulk Powders Shuttle Storage System

Company Background

Bulk Powder Terminals based within the port of Liverpool is a purpose built facility for the import and storage of bulk minerals and chemicals. Due to a rapid period of business growth, our client had begun to research new premises to solve the problem of limited space, and lack of storage. After contacting the NSI team, detailed consultations and surveys were carried out with the aim of maximising their existing floor space, resulting in a costed business case to install an automated shuttle storage system.

NSI gave Bulk Powders the confidence that we could manage the project with minimal disruption to the daily operations of the business whilst ensuring a safe working environment at all times.

Project Background

After a period of planning, including site surveys and extensive communication, which continued throughout the entire project, a detailed plan to deliver a staggered approach was produced to ensure that the daily running of the business could continue as smoothly as possible while the work commenced.

Projective Objective

The project was delivered on time giving the client a substantially increased capacity from a previous 1500 to 3000 pallet spaces, and using a third less of their existing  floorspace; this resulted in the client making considerable cost savings from being able to utilise their existing space rather than moving to new premises. Not only was the project delivered on time and to budget, but with the planned minimum disruption to our client.
