- Fire rated suspended ceilings are often required to allow the installation of mezzanine flooring, offices etc to comply with fire engineering issues that may be raised by Building Control.
- Fire rated ceilings can look identical to a non-fire rated suspended ceiling, but use fire resistant ceiling tiles.

NSI can supply and install all these specifications. A one hour fire rated ceiling tends to be the most common application required by Building Control.
- Lighting choice should also feature heavily in the design of fire rated ceilings - surface mounted lights (e.g. strip lights) do not require any protection, but recessed lighting units require a protected lighting box or tent above the light module that forms an integral part of the fire rated suspended ceiling. We can also put surface mounted light fittings on after the suspended ceiling has been installed - NSI Projects can advise on all of these issues.
